Age Concern Wigan Borough have secured funding from Comic Relief to now offer an Advocacy Service

What is Advocacy?

Age Concern Wigan Borough seeks to promote the well being of all older people throughout the Borough and to make later life a fulfilling experience.

Our aim is to empower and enable the older person to express their needs and choices.

The Advocate will provide support to ensure the Older Persons voice is heard when facing life changing decisions.

We will:

• Listen to you
• Respect your confidentiality
• Give you support
• Respect your choices and decisions
• Provide relevant information and facts

Who is the service for?

Older people to ensure they have a choice in decisions regarding their long term care and end of life preferences

For example

• Care Management/Care planning process
• Healthcare, social care and housing issues
• Residents of Residential and Nursing Homes
