Welcome to Age Concern Wigan Borough

Age Concern Wigan Borough is a charitable company limited by guarantee. The organisation aims to promote and enhance the welfare of older people throughout the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan. It does this through the delivery of a range of services, the operation of a wholly owned trading company and work with older people and other agencies to promote and influence improvements in the lives of older people.

The trustees are independent and the organisation is reliant on grants and contracts to respond effectively to identified needs, trading income and donations to sustain that independence. Age Concern Wigan Borough is a member of the wider Age Concern movement, which is a federation including over 400 local organisations and groups and Age Concern England.

Services

At the heart of the work of Age Concern Wigan Borough are the services provided for older people across the Borough. These are locally determined, as a response to identified needs and the availability of appropriate resources.
